Title: Engine dies after throttle roll off
Post by vulcan2go on 09/05/12 at 12:53:35

Need some help here, not sure which route to go. Changed stock muff on my 2002 LS650 to Harley sportster and took out half the white spacer in the carb. My problem is that I have the idle set up fairly high, but when I roll off the throttle very quickly the engine can stall. The air mix screw is only out 3/4 of a turn and any more turns out and the engine slows down, also if I turn the air mix screw in and even bottom it out, it makes no difference in the engine idle speed. I would think that the engine should slow down if I lean out the mixture.
I'm just wondering if I need to change the pilot jet to fix this problem? Can any one offer any advice? Thanks!

First I would put the white spacer back to stock,  then go through the proper procedure for re-jetting your carb.

This post will help.
