Couple hours sleep, make sure anything of value that hadn't already been stolen was put up and got out. Just beat the National Guard to the only not busy truck stop south of Hattiesburg. Don't know what the storm will do to the place, it's built on stilts on one of the back bay bayou canals. Water level was very low, so the 8.8' storm surge that the weather channel shows for the area are only part way up the steps. Basement will flood but since there is nothing of value in there, and all the utilities are elevated I'm not too concerned. Will head back down when the Guard has left and the county mounties say we can come back in. Anybody want a cheap vacation property... ;) ;D |
