I ONLY USE THE BLOOD OF MY ENEMIES.

That and ATF. Depends on the bike and where I'm riding.

Would you put fork oil in and automatic transmission.

No. But I'd also use proper grammar and spell check my post so it didn't say "and" instead of "an," nor would I create a topic just to criticize other people.

You don't have to maintain my bike, you don't have to pay for gas or repairs for my bike, and I sure as hell don't want you riding my bike, so let me choose what I do with my bike and keep your overpriced Klotz to yourself and your mystery machine which I doubt you even ride. I don't shove ATF down your throat and I'd expect the same courtesy from you with Klotz.

Bill...you just don't seem to,realize that the manufacture don't always knows what's best.and often makes deals with oil manufactures by taking huge payments as gifts and donations for recommending their products in their machines. Example: under the hood of a Volkswagen you may see a sticker or badge stating that Volkswagen recommends the use of castrol oil in this engine. When in fact the engine is nothing any more fancy than a ford escort engine.
Also there are some other crazy things going on in this auto/oil product world. Like for example, the proper fluid for a power steering pump on an older Chevy or Ford requires dexron II transmission fluid. As well as dexron II to be used in several manual transmissions, and even in most transfer cases. Now Im in no way suggesting that everyone should just disregard the types of fluids a manufacture recommends. But that's also the key word: RECOMENDED. In the shop I work in we always put in the recommended fluids, but that's to cover our ass in case there is failure. Anyways I guess I'm done with this novel. It's just you seem to think oil that specifically states it's Jaso and ma on the bottle is still diesel oil(rotella t and t6). I as many people that keep claiming ATF works great in their forks, and yet nobody has ever had any problems using it then perhaps it's actually a good oil to use despite it being ATF.

OK Bill, I have a question.  What engine oil would you recommend for these bikes? :-?

I wish I could get my hand on one! ::)

Now I would love to have the Motor/Tranny off of one of those to do a custom cruiser build.  I've often thought a diesel MC would be awesome  :D

THANKS for posting that link!  Great pictures.

As for Bill67's question, I thought he put Sea Foam in everything, so I'm a little surprised he's asking the question in the first place. ;D

Who on here is trying to shove a certain oil down peoples throats,Thats not even a motorcycle oil to be used in a S40 and saying its the only oil.

Why would anyone criticize ATF in forks? It was the recommended fluid in at least one of my motorcycles. Besides, it is RED!

If I put ATF in my S40 engine will I have to shift the gears.

Waaaaay back in 1972 the dealer told me to drain the "fish oil" out of my Suzuki TM125 forks....and put ATF in it.  The dealer did not carry any special "fork oil", and living out in the country there was nothing else available but ATF.  It seemed like the perfect thing to use as it was a thin oil, it had anti-foam and seal protecting additives, and it was cheap and plentiful.  I am not sure any of those qualities has changed, and as far as I know it works just fine in forks.  I would guess that factory race teams use something else.......but I and my machine are not sophisticated enough to realize any difference.

My first bike was a Yamaha RD 200,I thought the fork was to stiff,I thought it was just oil in the forks,so I wanted a thinner oil so I put in regular 3 in 1 oil,It worked and it was a softer ride.Only put 1000 miles on it then traded to a bigger bike.

Bill,

How many little cans of 3-in-1 oil did it take?

===============

People say we pick on Bill, actually he jest begs for it sometimes.

Think of some of his "statements" as being a cricket cast in among the lilly pads.

He knows there are bass in there ....  he just wants a hit, doesn't have to be a big one, just a hit.   A small mouth or a crappie would do, or even a yellow belly bream.

He casts, then he watches his bobber alertly for any action.

Then he gets a nibble ....

WOW!  Now Bill says it's OK to use diesel oil in a motorcycle!!! :o :o :o :o

Is that Klotz Diesel oil Motorcycle approved??? :-? :-? :-?

Better use  Rotella...It's diesel and MA approved! :P :P :P

Lightweight forks get Dexron 3. Decent sized forks get Type F. Real forks use grease (springers and girders). Can't wait to replace my bike's piece of junk glide front end with a springer.

If I had a bike with a tunable fork I'd be buying BelRay fork oils and experimenting until I hit the right one(s). Some forks need the oil custom mixed to optimize performance.
