Post by Serowbot on 07/29/12 at 22:20:44 Okay,.. team sports don't do it for me... ....but the women's gymnastics... drama, emotion,.. and my muscles ache just watching them... ... my stomach's in my chest,.. my heart's in my throat,... and I can taste my spleen!... ... the little American girl lands heels first, sideways, and those tiny toes grip 'round the bar like a gecko on glass in a hurricane... Geez!... I'm exhausted... :-?... ... and my feet hurt... :-?... mighta' pulled a tendon or somethin'... Watchin' is exhuastin'... :-?... Oh, god,... they're blowin' the floor exercise,.. ...and I think I threw my back out... :-?... ;D ;D ;D... |

Did they make that mat too small?... ... or are they so pumped up,.. they're blowin' themselves off the stage?... It breaks my heart... They explode with such energy, they overshoot the stage... I don't know of any other event,.. where too much adrenaline and energy can cost you a gold... It usually gets the gold... These little girls have to be superhuman,.. and rein it in, to stay connected to this earth... ;D ;D ;D... It's almost criminal, not to let them fly... :-?... |

Sending top ranked 10 thug jump up players to dominate a bunch of third world rubes who play by the actual rules... |

Title: Re: Olympics... Post by babyhog on 08/02/12 at 15:35:18 I mostly only watch the gymnastics. More the women than the men's but love both. I was a gymnast in an earlier life. Its amazing how the sport has changed over the years. Its all about the power and tricks now, but I think thats since the introduction of the rhythmic gymnastics that is now an Olympic event. Plain gymnastics used to be more beautiful and artistic, but now the rhythmic girls do all the pretty stuff. But that's ok with me. I still enjoy watching it and reminiscing about my younger years. I can still do a few tricks though. ;) |

I enjoyed that, Tiny kid that I was, I was still able to serve & I liked diggin the ball & getting it up for someone taller to return. So, I saw volleyball was on & started watching,, & It got good,. Did you guys know we have a 40 y/o woman on that team>? Im pretty sure thats what I heard them say, |

There is no perfect human... your body type decides your speciality... Swimmers are tall, broad, and lean... runners are narrow, and lean,... shot putters are huge... the gymnasts small and solid... So many different specimens of human achievement... Imagine for a moment... the shot putters in a 100m swimming race... the swimmers in gymnastics ,.... the runners shot putting..... the gymnasts running.. ... and the results are laughable... Strange... you can't tell one penguin, rhino, giraffe, rabbit, fly,... from another... We are so much like dogs... from Chihuahua, to St.Bernard, to Pitbull, to Spaniel... ... a very, varied species... More than anything,... I think the Olympics celebrates that... We're so weird... :-?... |
