Title: New Clutch Lever Assy's
Post by heroicseven on 07/22/12 at 00:32:37

I'm trying to replace my stock clutch lever assy as mine is worn out and the mirror threads are stripped. Is our cable pretty similar to most? Should most of ebay fit without too much hassle?

How many million miles you got on that thing? Easy to fix threads there,

No I just pulled all the handle bar bits off and polished them good, its mostly the mirror threads are jacked and i was thinking of going with clip ons and bar end mirrors or just clip on mirrors.

My back hurts just thinking about that,,I think I could do it for a while, if my feet were under me, but with the pegs where they are, it would be a physical impossibility for me to ride more than a coupla miles with clip ons I think,, IDK, it may not be as radical as Im seeing in my minds eye,,
Good luck with that, I know they look good, & if I was doin it, id want sexier hardware on it,

If you are cruising Ebay for a replacement, just remember that the Savage bars are 1" diameter, and almost all others are 7/8ths.
If you get clip-ons, you'll need to find 1" ones, otherwise you'd need to replace all of the handlebar switchgear, which would be a pain.
RYCA is probably your best bet for the clip-ons; hardly anyone makes them for 38mm tubes with 1" bars. I looked.

As for the clutch; most Harleys use 1" bars, and so do the new Triumphs; at least the Bonneville's do. I have a set of their bars on my project... using them as clubman's of sorts... I love 'em., but I also moved the footpegs back as well...

I noticed the diameter (almost to late). I almost pulled the trigger on some from ebay until my brain kicked in and said "what diameter do you need?", thanks for the heads up tho.. let me ask you, what was involved in moving the pegs to the rear? Will I need to weld... :-? I cant weld  :( ... yet. thanks!

And @J_O_G Ive got a fresh back.. 8-) Ill go with some apes and foward controls in a few years  ;)

I would also like to move my pegs back.
I am trying to do a little research to see if I can remount the stock pegs on Ryca's rearset mount.
Does anyone know if this can happen with a different muffler?
