Got my new rc1250 K&N filter today, it fits on my carb, but when I replace the batterybox, the topcover is pushing hard on the filter. I'm afraid it is damaging the filter when riding...

Can I simply cut a hole in the topcover? This maybe allows water to fall in.

Very eager to know what you guys did to fit yours!

Somebody can help me? Still don't know if I have to cut it... Havent done anything with it yet...

Dude,, IDK the answer, or Id sure tell ya. How about this,, Take the battery cover off & see how it fits then,, Or look at buildin up some plumbing to turn it to the side?

if you took out the airbox then you can sift back the bat box to get more room

I took the top cover of the battery box off mine and cut it apart so that I could still mount the toolbox cover and lock everything up.

I didn't do anything to mine, it just barely pushes against it not hurting anything...but I am also gonna be getting some black plastic plumbing tubes and make an adapter come out over the battery box, then point down just behind it and put my filter there instead.

Thanks for the replies, I'm going to cut a hole in it, and paste some rubber in place a little lower. That way it still be waterproof.
