My youngest son just moved to White Horse in the Yukon. 4032km away. We are going to miss him. :(

On the bright side, it'll be a great road trip to go see him.

I suspect that the reason for the move was to take a better job. Families are scattered hither and thither these days...look on the bright side, at least he is still in Canada. :-?

That is a good thing, and yes it was for a better job, and he has friends there. He used to come for dinner and laundry a couple of times a week, and help me out with stuff. But he's just about as far away as he can be and still be in Canada.

Ha!   Better not try it on a Savage.   The gas stations are way fewer, and if you run out of fuel in that neck-o-the-woods it could be dangerous.

Anyway, don't feel too bad Art, my boy is in Korea.

The gas stations aren't that far apart.  ::)

The bugs however, may fly away with your bike when you stop to fuel up. ;D

I know you're not dumb, but have you thought of setting up a video link on your computer and sending him one? We have close friends with a daughter whose husband goes to different bases with the Army. When they went to Anchorage they bought a neat set up fairly cheaply and mailed it to the daughter. It was way better than talking on the phone, since she was taking chemo with her husband in Afghanistan. I'm sure he'll miss you guys, too.  :)

He did that before he left and we have used it once already.

He just did that so I can feel better about having a kid on each coast!
We've used Skype for video calls quite successfully.
At least you know where to go for that summer fishing trip!

Hello Artteacher, what can I say, KUDOS to your son for thaking his future in his hands big style!

I read about Skype calls, I never used Skype but I have just finished a videocall with my 14y.o. who is in Dublin, Ireland, for language training, through our Facebook accounts.

So, not to worry, you'll soon be proud of him even more  8-)
All you two need is internet and two crappity old notebooks or even netbooks as long as they have a webcam (who doesn't ?)

BTW... Googlemaps says its 5100 Km from London to Whitehorse...
...I'm sure that with the proper Harley gas tank you can make it in the summer...

PS Two round trips and you're ready for another cam chain change!!!  ;D ;D ;D

...whew! ;)
