Title: Memphis Shades for 2011 S40
Post by JonRob on 07/17/12 at 14:13:15

Hi:  I've searched the internet and this forum for the answer to this question to no avail.  So I hope someone knows for sure.  I have a 2011 S40, and would like to put a windshield on it, possibly from Memphis Shades.  However the fork mount kit for the S40 (part # MEM9909) states it will only fit through the 2008 model year.  Does anyone know if this will also fit a 2011 S40?  Thanks for the help

I have a 15" Memphis Slim mounted on the forks using that exact same mount (My bike is a 2005) and knowing how it mounts and how little these bikes have changed, I would go out on a limb and probably put a 99% guarantee that it will work with a 2011-2012 bike.

Here's what mine looked like when I first put it on (made some other changes since then) ;D

Thank you for the post, and the photos.  Very nice bike.  I agree with you, I doubt there is any difference between a 2008 and 2009 S40.  I may gamble and get the Memphis Shades mount and Slim like you have and hope it fits my 2011 bike.

Jon, a few of us have the Spitfire S-06 on our bikes. Mine looks to be about the same heighth as the one pictured. It is adjustable and sells for about $75-85. But you have to specify the handlebar diameter. Just a thought.

I have a Memphis Shades sportshield mounted on my 2007 with that kit.  I'd be shocked if the kit didn't work -- as far as I know there haven't been any changes to the forks between 2007 and 2011, and the kit is pretty adjustable (can mount higher/lower and rotate the clamps).

Memphis Shades is a great company -- I lost some nuts and bolts due to my own stupidity (took windshield off on a nice day and forgot to tighten the bolts down so they wouldn't fall out on the road) and they sent me new ones for free.  That kind of customer service is rare these days.
