In a 16 oz glass put 4 oz vodka, five ice cubes and top up with equal parts of low sugar grapefruit juice and low sugar apple juice. Stir vigorously. Garnish with a slice of lemon or lime.
I call it a Grapple Hook.
For a Grapple Hook Smoothie, use two trays of ice cubes and blend until smooth. Not as strong flavoured, but VERY refreshing ;)

BTW I keep my vodka in the freezer.

Geez, two of those and you've already slurped down a half pint of vodka! I probably wouldn't be OK for wrenchin on the Zuk after that, but sometimes just sittin on a stool and lookin can be meditative.

Played with this today. I was really excited as I love vodka and on my last bender I bought the big bottle of Absolut and then after my last bender I haven't had a drink since.

I don't know how big my cups are but I'm going to assume 8 oz. I mixed 2 shots of vodka, 2 shots of apple juice, and 2 shots of grapefruit. It was awful.
Maybe the lack of ice, maybe because I didn't stir?
I put it in the fridge and just came back to it now.

I poured half of it out. EASY! I poured it into another cup for later - not down the drain. Topped off with apple and grapefruit and it's drinkable now. I like apple, I like grapefruit, I love vodka so why not all three together?
I'm using regular sugar filled varients and white grapefruit, not pink grapefruit. Not sure if that makes a difference?

I use low sugar pink grapefruit, and low sugar apple juice. It sounds to me like you didn't have enough fruit juice for the amount of vodka, and they really need to be cold too.
