well can I?

Sure.  I use a 2 amp Sears float charger.  I like the pigtail that comes with it (like a Battery Tender) so that connections are quick and easy.

I would wonder why you mite think you couldn't,......or how else you would get it charged.
Altho, maybe it shouldn't surprise me,....w/ as many false rumors/myths that float around in the battery world.

Ill tell ya, it was the guy at Auto Zone that put this thought in my head, told me to read all the literature with both the battery and charger first before using them together.

No probs so far leaving an AGM on a Deltran battery tender.  Just get one with "maintenance mode" or similar.

Some of the new batteries have a warning against using a charger with a de sulfation mode. Either I read that somewhere or I dreamed it. But it's in my head. And since it's now on the Internet, it must be true. ;D

If you want to go 'old skool' with a conventional battery charger, you could copy the same rig as our good man, and astronaut, Digger uses.

Got it, thanks y'all. When I bought the battery the sales guy was all about it, he said it would never leak or anything even if it was upside down. I told him that really didnt matter to me since my battery leaking would be the least of my concerns if I ever found myself upside down on the bike  ;D ;D ;D ;D

I use a Battery Tender Jr. on my Odyssey AGM battery and have no trouble.  I'm pretty sure you need a different charger for lithium batteries though.

I believe one more advantage to AGM, is that they can be charged at a higher rate than regular lead acid.

I find that the best thing about my agm battery is I never have to charge it.

Ditto that. Also love the fact that you never have to check the acid level, would never go back to an unsealed battery.

A bold statement !
While it is true that AGM has a slower "self discharge" rate than lead acid, only those that get charged (ridden) regularly, need "never" be charged,.........if you are looking to get maximum life from it.
The #1 killer of batteries is not being fully charged 100% of the time, which as we know most all batteries are not.

If a battery (AGM or LA) could stay fully charged all the time, its useful life can/will easily be extended to 8-12 yrs.

This is why any battery that spends its down time on a good maintainer charger (13.2-4v max) can outlast a "normally used" battery 3-5X.

No, not a battery expert, but I have taken an interest in battery longivity many yrs ago, and have proven the above to be true many times.

The Telephone companies have know about this for years.  They have even got it down to the best float voltage to keep the batteries on for best life.  The SLA batteries they use normally last anywhere from 20 to 30 years in normal service.
