The English language is very weird. Phonetically you can spell "fish"
ghoti.
gh as in lauGH
o as in wOmen
ti as in acTIon

As the product of the Texas educational system, I don't think I will even try. Since there is no recognized rule of grammer for the most commonly used word in the Texican language, the pronoun "yall", I am bound fail.

Title: Re: Your grammar is 100% correct.
Post by runwyrlph on 07/07/12 at 16:29:20

"Yall" is incorrect.

The proper word to use is "yinz" (or some experts prefer "yunz").

;)

Here I must respectfully disagree. Your “expert” must have ancestry rooted in cooler lands to prefer the two syllable term “yunz” over the one syllable “yall” and create twice the work.

If referring to everyone, the correct grammer is, All Y'all.  [smiley=cheesy.gif]

All seriousness aside, I see a lot of misuse of...
Its it's
To, too
Then, than
There, their, they're

but always remember...

Fruit flies like bananas

They're both wrong.

As Worcester is an English city, and the main city in its "shire" (=region), the english pronounciation is...

"Wooster" for the city (Woosta only in London), "Woosta-shar" for both the Shire and the sauce.

Y'all have a problem with English cities, and I can't blame you.

Canterbury (as in, the Archbishop of...) is "Cànter-b'ree", not "Canter-berry".

As for the grammar, I got a measly 86%.
Mixed up my further and farther, and my different "to" with "from"... :P

;D

Got that, Gyro.

I already knew that names, just like drinks, change as they go acrtoss the ocean.

The Imperial Gallon being 4.4 liters, the US gallon being 3.8 liters...
It's a good thing the land mile didn't get any shorter as well !  ;D

By the way, can anyone explain why there's a "Newark" just across the river from "New York"? Or was that due to pronounciation as well ?  ::)
