Title: 87 master cylinder switch sensitivity adjustment
Post by DangRider on 07/05/12 at 11:14:51

A co-worker picked up an '87 savage and noticed that he has to pull the brake lever very hard before the rear brake lights up.

Is there a way to adjust the sensitivity of the switch to complete the circuit with lighter pressure?

Not adjustable. Needs a new switch. It's right on the bottom of the lever, one screw holds it in place.

87's have a funky switch, kinda like a knife blade switch.
it may just need cleaning or the contacts replaced.
