If you think that is amazing, what do you think of this picture?

Here's a photo of a "motorcycle gang" I believe of Igorot tribal members taken near Baguio, Philippines. Who said they don't have riding clubs overseas?  ;D

It's not so much different than the past. I remember the days in the 1960's, where we as kids rode bikes that only had a rear foot brake and single speed. Then my parents got me a Japanese 26-inch 3 speed bike with rear dérailleur and front/rear hand brakes. We didn't use helmets or reflective vests. I was in tall cotton. I think today we are too much an overly protective society.   ;D

I still remember my first ride on a bike with hand brakes. Down the hill I went,, & as the little creek came up fast, I shoved down on the back pedal, hard, & it didnt stop, it didnt slow down ( Bike Or pedal),, the pedal came around & Smashed into my shin , I was half off the seat from the pedal going out from under my foot, then I hit the creek,, it wasnt glorious,, but it was memorable!

As for the rider only having a helmet, when I lived in India I asked the very same question to a few friends. Apparently there at least certain states that required only the driver to wear a helmet, and then there was the more common answer that since the driver (husband typically) was the one who worked and was the daily rider and since they could only afford one helmet he got it   :-[

Baguio is a mountain resort-like area ... much like going to Maggie Valley or the Dragon.
Cool and comfortable up there while those in the lowlands are suffering under sweltering heat and humidity.  :-X
Went there for several days while on deployment back in the 80's
