Only ride downhill & with the wind,
& ditch that stock exhaust, tune the carb, slap a lumpier cam in it,

Yanking off that stock rear fender alone will probably get you an extra 5mph!

Spend some time searching through this forum; especially in the TECH section. There are tons of ideas here. I personally have 20 or more threads bookmarked with ideas for my Savage project.
All of your answers are here... just look for 'em...

If you really hit 100mph,.. you're already past redline...
Want to go faster?..  You need a different bike...

They are only safely rated for 85-90. They'll do a lot more, but it takes some work. Carb tuning, serious weight reduction, lower wind profile (you've got to really tuck down to the tank)...

I've had mine at over 100 mph several times. It takes it, but overall bike life is going to suffer. Oiling is insufficient, cooling is insufficient, brakes are a joke, tires are a joke... They work fine for normal riding, not so much for fast riding.

Advertised and posted in magazine road tests... 88mph... 31hp/37ftlbs torque...

Pipe tuning, filter, porting, and rejet,.. will get you 34hp/39ftlbs...
... if you're lucky...
Maybe, 95mph...

Redline is at 97mph... with stock gearing...

I came back from Laconia one year, coming down rt 93, I blasted 85+ for about 30 minutes, I couldn't feel my hands and feet for an hour after I got off the bike.
