I replaced my petcock with the Raptor. It idles smoother and higher. And it runs much better. Best $25 I have spent yet!

Both the RYCA bikes we are building have that mod as well.

I've been thinking about that mod as well. Only drawback is the smaller reserve. (I live out in the rural parts. Wished someone made a Fat Bob tank for the Savage.  :( )

Look at Serowbots bike pics showing the water bottles. That blue one is stainless & the cap has an Oring. I know, Ive got one, First, put gas in it & leave it in the sun, away from everything, sitting on some paper, so, if it leaks, youll know. No Leakeee? Mount that puppy up,,

If you really want to,... you can slide a piece of fuel line over the on position pick-up tube, to extend the height and increase your reserve...
... or ,.. raising the rear of your tank, with a pair of 1" rubber spacers will also increase reserve...
;)...

No free lunch.  Increase the reserve, reduce the main tank.  I don't see the advantage.

The petcock can't change the tank capacity, it just changes at which point the tank hits reserve. You get the same mileage regardless.

Of course. What I was referring to is when you need to hit the reserve, you only have about 20 miles radius or less, instead of 30. I missed a few stop once, and filled with 2.6 gallons for a 2.8 tank. These rural parts tend to provide long hikes to the next filling station, unlike the big cities.   :(

It's why I purchased one of these:

Reda Portable Motorcycle Gas Can - 1 Gallon   :)

I think the simpler solution would be to extend the reserve tube height by soldering a brass tube extension to match the OEM.

Now, that will make yer' tank smaller...  :-?...
It's the main tube you want to extend... ;)...
