Being 59 , I came along when Robert Lansing played in 12 O'clock High. I had the advantage of being buddies with a guy whose dad fought at the bulge. He didn't say much, but we were brought up by him and my dad, who was in Italy during rebuilding, to know that ten real men went down in those planes. I got to touch one and see it fly and hear it a few years ago. Also went up inside a B-25 at the same show. Thanks for the posting. America is still making the world a better place. No one has the attitude of freedom we have. I just hope we don't raise such compliant children they fall for big govt promises. Thanks

My neighbor was a B17 ball turret gunner stationed in England during WWII.   He was in the 5th Bomber Group and completed 50 missions, then returned to the states and taught new trainees.   I am a Vietnam vet, but there is no way I would have traded him jobs - yikes!!!  When you can get him started, he has some awesome stories.

My dad flew Lancasters in WWii. He and his buddies didn't talk too much about the experience.
