Title: Low profile windscreen
Post by martinfilms34 on 06/19/12 at 19:02:37

Im looking to buy a windscreen for my savage, seeing as I would like to use it more for highway commutes. Does anyone have any recommendations for a low profile windscreen that still protects me from the wind and objects of the road. I read that the slipstreamed spit fire is easy to remove and looks to be kind of low profile.

You'd know if you ever rode one.

KNocking some wind off the chest takes a lot of effort out of highway riding.

How well does the fly screen work in redirecting wind away?
I initially wanted to buy one of those, but it seems like its way to small.

it keeps the wind off your chest and your helmet in it.
which is why I like it.
up until 80 or so and then you have to duck down a little.
of course if you're expecting to smoke behind it... fogettaboutit.   ;D

The flyscreen does help but is not quite as relaxing as a real windscreen.
I like mine it helps keep the bugs of my body, I like the way it looks over a full screen and little hunch goes a long way at highway speeds  ;)

Yep, every bike I've owned in the last 30 years has been windshielded, but this is what I meant...   this is my bike with a standard Zuk Boulevard windshield.   It was too small for me with the wind hitting me about face level (I'm 5' 9").  It has been replaced with Slip Streamer Hellfire, and now the envelope goes over my helmet with less buffeting and bugs in the teeth.

You wouldn't happen to be selling the standard windsheild that you have on jn the picture? I'll be willing to purchase from you.

I have it on local CraigsList for $65, but I have no idea what the shipping would be to you?   My new one was $14 (shipping) from an Arkansas distributor.   Here is the one for sale...   ummm, the pot belly you see in the reflection must be a distortion of the windshield curvature    :)

I'll second the flyscreen. Works like a charm at higher speeds where you need it, but still gives you the wind at city speeds. I've tired a Spitfire but found that my head was right in the buffet zone. (I'm six feet long.) no good for me. Ymmv.

360, how easy is it to remove? I plan on really only using it about twice a week on a 40 mile highway commute

Looks pretty easy,..
I'd guess just leaving off a couple beers a night for a week or two...
... maybe a couple crunches or a few sit-ups... :-?...

Takes about 5 minutes to remove the 4 bolts on fork clamps.   You can leave the windshield attached to them for next installation.   I actually liked this windshield for 2 reasons  A) it's prettier, and B ) it's fork mounted.   My Hellfire provides more protection, but it's fork and handlebar combo mount.

Ummm, the pot belly will likely stay.

Dear Sir,

this is Prince Naseem from Nigeria.

I will happily buy the Boulevard screen for $200 + $100 shipping.

Unfortunately my zillion-dollar hedge fund is temporarily under scrutiny, so if you could be so king to use $20 bills (used) for the padding the parcel i would appreciate.

:-?

;D ;D ;D

Love the 'screen, though  ;)
