Title: Electrical connectors?
Post by Smokestack on 06/18/12 at 17:18:33

So, I'm chasing down a couple gremlins in my rear turn signals, and was wondering if there was anything specific I need to know about the connectors on this bike.  Can I just grab the closest looking ones from the auto parts store, or do I need to grab a specific rating?  Anyone know?

If you're talking about automotive spade type slip-on connectors, they're pretty generic, but the Savage also has all kinds of specialized connectors (waterproof, etc.).

A good way to troubleshoot hot circuit items like turn sigs is a trouble light that clips to ground and has a pointy end for piercing insulation.   Most automotive stores have them, or they can also be made at home fairly easily using an LED.

My trouble lite is an 1156 socket with wires soldered on, an aligator clip on one & a piece of dowel rod with a hard wire sharpened to a needle point on the other,
