DMC Sidecars in PNW makes a sub-frame for the S40, you might try picking their brains.

Don't know where you are locateD. Just had a Velorex 565 mounted on my 1100 Shadow last month. Got one sweet deal from Doug Bingham in Van Nuys. Google his name or Sidestrider.
