Getting ready to ride 2000 miles so I was going over the bike. Went down to try and slide the rubber off the gear shift and flip it around, and the gear shift has a lot of play in it. Is this normal? I looked at the micro fiche and it appears it is just a cir clip that holds it in.

Well I guess I should be more specific. it does not flop around but I can shake it with my hand.

Serowbot I only shook it twice so it is not playing with it.

Just went and checked mine. It does wiggle a little, side to side, and up and down, but I'd say not more than maybe 1/8 to 1/4" of movement. Hope its normal. Good luck on your ride.

Ooookay,, went & looked. Its just a tube on a pin, held by an E-Clip.. No precision at all,it flops around quite a bit.Nooo Problem.. Its a solid connection at the transmission,

That is what I thought. Just needed a 2nd 3rd 4th,,,,,, opinion. Just glad I am not the only one that never noticed that is has wiggle room.

DJ since the bikes a 5-sp you are required to have a 5th opinion so you get mine!!!

A little sloppy "ain't no big deal" Just be sure to have "spares" in your saddle bags!
