Title: Re: My RYCA street tracker Post by splash07 on 06/11/12 at 13:55:03 Really great job there singles. Looks like a lot of fun. How about a ride review for those who are interested in a similar project. Handling? Comfort? |

Title: Re: My RYCA street tracker Post by teabowl13 on 06/12/12 at 05:15:44 Yeah, Man! That looks great! She's all business... Any plan to paint the tail to match the tank? And what DID happen to your mufflah? ;D |
Title: Re: My RYCA street tracker Post by singlesgoinsteady on 06/12/12 at 08:07:18 Thanks guys. A steering damper would slow down the momentum of those mega wide 34 inch bars. No plan for a brace yet. She's plenty noodly, but, I think that's the headstock, without bracing the frame, I'm not sure how much you can really improve the handling. I have a little bolt-on open pipe that actually DID shoot off while idling, having not been sinched down and no hanger on it yet. Some things can wait ;D Yup, I have a RYCA seat unit that I had the old school vinyl put on, just need to settle on a paint scheme to work with the tank. But, for now, I just have to ride it after waffling around for 4 months over half of creation putting it together. I'll post more on it when I get around to it. And the positioning is great. That old seat is a little narrow to say the least, but, I was concerned the pegs were too high and rearset etc, not a problem at all for me at 5'10". Turns real nice too with the mega bars. Cheers |

which one do you have? was thinking of making one from my front fender, but, doubt it would do much rigidity-wise. |
Title: Re: My RYCA street tracker Post by WD on 06/12/12 at 13:24:59 That really looks the part. Love the tank paint scheme. Go down to Auburn Bent Bike and root through the exhaust bins. Worked there years ago, always a great selection of new and used street and offroad mufflers. And grab a ton of oil filters while you are there. Half the cost of OEM, when I worked there a major local dealership bought his from us and repackaged them. If you go down there kick the big bald guy and tell him Jeff and Doug said kiss our a$$... ;D |

Title: Re: My RYCA street tracker Post by WD on 06/12/12 at 22:15:23 All kidding aside if you plan to make a run down let the board know. Awful lot of folks on here need stuff they can't get where they live except through the stealership. I know I could use a few oil and air filters (LS650 and VS800), a couple Dunstall replica mufflers, sprockets and chain for a 1963 CL72... My low pipe street tracker project. 250 Scrambler with CB pipes. When you kick Tony, tell him Drifter Doug, they hated each other. ;D |
