Title: Battery Hold Down Post by skeebo on 06/01/12 at 16:34:18 So I'm finish'in up this setup for a Yuasa AGM or comparable, tank is half electrical and half for toolkit, papers etc. ya know......any thoughts? http://sphotos.xx.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ash4/303338_308706259217784_228669960554748_695108_75388286_n.jpg http://sphotos.xx.fbcdn.net/hphotos-snc6/253389_308706382551105_228669960554748_695109_248533192_n.jpg |
Title: Re: Battery Hold Down Post by SimonTuffGuy on 06/01/12 at 17:10:45 I like it... What one are you planning to run on your bike long term? I'm hoping that my mini battery I picked up earlier this year will last compared to the BigCrank... But if it didn't, I'd consider going back to the BC with a setup like this... |
Title: Re: Battery Hold Down Post by skeebo on 06/01/12 at 17:23:03 I'm interested to see what the yuasa does over the summer myself. As soon as this is done I'll re-install my tank/box combo, I have it look'in pretty good. |
Title: Re: Battery Hold Down Post by justin_o_guy2 on 06/02/12 at 06:10:39 I got a battery tender & took the battery clamps off & soldered in a phono jack, built a pigtail for the battery to mate with it. Did that on the lawnmower & 4 wheeler. If I was keepin the bike, Id do the same for it,. |
Title: Re: Battery Hold Down Post by skeebo on 06/02/12 at 08:06:07 Nice...plug'n'play. That's a benefit of this setup, I'ts going on my brothers lane splitter, It sit's for a couple week's at a time in between spins. This setup is user friendly. http://sphotos.xx.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ash3/179358_308742152547528_96849185_n.jpg http://sphotos.xx.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ash3/578201_308742235880853_228669960554748_695372_624386807_n.jpg |
Title: Re: Battery Hold Down Post by Badass94Cad on 06/02/12 at 11:42:32 Nice work! Hey I sent you a pm about getting one of your tank/battery box combos. Hit me back when you can! 8-) |
Title: Re: Battery Hold Down Post by clearush on 06/02/12 at 12:37:55 I'm liking it the more I see it, I was wondering what I was gonna do when I pull the air box out and this looks like a strong possibility. |
Title: Re: Battery Hold Down Post by skeebo on 06/02/12 at 16:12:33 Here's the tank bracket....pretty straight forward fabrication. |
Title: Re: Battery Hold Down Post by clearush on 06/03/12 at 07:37:57 Sent you an email about a few different parts, you can ignore that pm from yesterday. |

Title: Re: Battery Hold Down Post by Smokestack on 06/03/12 at 17:37:20 See, that's just sweet. You've been puttin' out some killer work recently, man. Whaddaya charge for one of those? What sizes will it take? |
Title: Re: Battery Hold Down Post by skeebo on 06/04/12 at 08:22:47 Thanks smokestack....glad you like it. Tank and hold down for most batteries is $85.00 shipped, I can do a hold down for most batteries for $35.00. Your not getting rid of your aluminum tank are you?....that thing is to cool. |

Nah, but the crappy diamond plate/hacked-up OEM battery box might hafta go, so... I'll think about it and get back to ya. Gotta decide on a possible new battery anyway since I killed my Odyssey... |
Title: Re: Battery Hold Down Post by skeebo on 06/07/12 at 12:07:40 Here's a hold down for a ballistic evo2.......sweet battery. |
Title: Re: Battery Hold Down Post by skeebo on 06/08/12 at 12:23:51 The Evo2 project is lookin real nice....rectifier,starter relay and cable routing........... |
Title: Re: Battery Hold Down Post by clearush on 06/09/12 at 20:50:12 Coming along nicely 8-) |
Title: Re: Battery Hold Down Post by skeebo on 06/14/12 at 15:50:44 Here's your tank set up, Ignition box bracket will tidy things up and give lot's of room.... |
Title: Re: Battery Hold Down Post by skeebo on 06/14/12 at 15:53:24 Ignitor bracket............... |
Title: Re: Battery Hold Down Post by rfw2003 on 06/14/12 at 16:00:51 How much room is left inside the tank after the ignition box and wiring is all put in place? I think this would look pretty decent on a non-bobber as well in place of the side panels and stock battery/air box setup. Plus I like the new location of the rectifier as it will get alot more air circulation down there then under the back seat. R.F. |
Title: Re: Battery Hold Down Post by skeebo on 06/14/12 at 16:06:30 It's a 5 inch diameter tank, If you keep the harness tidy, not crazy just routed nice and zipties, you can have the front half open for storage. |
Title: Re: Battery Hold Down Post by rfw2003 on 06/14/12 at 16:11:27 very nice, will have to add that to my list of stuff to get then. Need to see how the sales of my pull offs go first after I get done with some upgrades this weekend. Will also have to figure out what battery to go with I guess as well. :P |
Title: Re: Battery Hold Down Post by skeebo on 06/14/12 at 16:15:46 This set up gives a lot of routing options from start to finish. The starter relay can also mount on top, under the seat, and battery cables can from the top if that's better for a certain battery. |
Title: Re: Battery Hold Down Post by rfw2003 on 06/14/12 at 16:25:38 I was noticing that with the pics you have posted. That is one of the things I really like about it. It really allows you to clean up the wiring and relocate things to better positions. R.F. |
Title: Re: Battery Hold Down Post by skeebo on 06/14/12 at 17:42:07 Pretty straight forward fabrication R.F.....once you source your materials you could make this in a weekend with no welding..... |

Title: Re: Battery Hold Down Post by skeebo on 06/16/12 at 11:44:45 Here's the final set up....turned out sweet, I'll shoot you an email with shipping info. |
Title: Re: Battery Hold Down Post by clearush on 06/16/12 at 12:09:30 That's awesome, now if the weather will cooperate on my off days I will be able to get this bike in good shape for all summer riding. 8-) |
Title: Re: Battery Hold Down Post by renegade1 on 06/16/12 at 13:19:40 that looks awsome, i wish i could get this set up from you but im running a stock battery and have NO idea of any electrical stuff at all haha looks like it would be a 10 and the scale of difficulty for me. |
