State police say a trooper clocked Anthony Anderson of Poughkeepsie driving at 193 mph around 8 p.m. Wednesday in the southbound lanes of Interstate 87 just south of Albany — the same stretch of road where another motorcyclist was spotted doing 166 mph earlier this month.

The trooper was able to get a description of the high-performance bike and alerted nearby patrols.

Troopers eventually stopped Anderson in the town of Rosendale. He told them he was headed to a hospital to visit a patient.

Anderson was issued 14 traffic tickets, including one for speeding.

It couldn't be immediately determined if he had a lawyer.

193 Miles in just ONE hour? Thats Waaay too fast.. hit something that fell of a truck, hunk of blown out tire, pothole,, its a Road,, not a racetrack with people watching to make sure the path is clear of hazards, like traffic
running at less than half your speed, changing lanes without looking for a missile coming up on them,, wadda Maroon!~

Crazy SOB, one wrong move or road imperfection and whamo! Not just him, but potentially many more innocent folks along for the ride.

Last year on hwy 41A Tullahoma Tn. There was a guy (kid-17) hit a extended cab Ranger right in the extended cab spot broad side (left turn in front of bike). Well the road had some dips in it and the troopers guessed the bike had to be doing at least 145 mph. The truck lady said "He came out of no-where". The bike went through the truck !

His head was still in his helmet when they finally found it !
Her 6 yr-old daughter was in the back seat !

Its a wonder we can still get a bike over 100 HP. :-?

This happened right near where I live, and the guy lives in the city I grew up in. It should also be noted that is was raining heavily at the time of the incident. He's lucky he got pulled over; I drive the NYS Thruway regularly and its dangerous enough with the idiot drivers and the Jersey drivers who like to pull out in front of you without warning. Crashing at that speed... They wont need a body bag, rather, a flat-head shovel and a couple 5 gal. buckets.

Notice also the torn rocker panel. Ive done body work & I know what those are made of. On a unibody, those are an important part of the structure. They arent heavy steel, but theyre not like what is found on a fender either.

I read about a bike recently that does 0 to 60 in 2.3 seconds, but does your brain do 0 to 60 in 2.3 seconds?

We probably all did a few things that were a bit stupid when we were younger, but 193mph...that's just nuts.
