Title: New Tires New Brakes
Post by rfw2003 on 05/30/12 at 17:30:42

Just got the new Route 66 tires put on today and also had ordered a set of new front pads to put on myself but the shop put them on for free since they were doing the mounting of the tires already and had it apart, can't beat that at all.  On the drive home it felt like a completely new bike.  ;D

Go slow on the sudden moves for a hundred miles, or so. New tires are kinda slick from the manufacturing process.

DITTO!!
If you think they feel good now, just wait until they get scuffed and broken in!

Oh I'm taking it easy. I'm still learning the ins and outs of this little thumper, and how it responds to my big 240lbs butt. :D

rfw, did you put stock sizes back on, or different?   Just curious about what is possible?

Stock on the front and 140/90 15's on the rear since the route 66 doesn't come in the stock size rear.  Even with them not having but about 30 miles on them, they are much better feeling then the IBC stockers that were on the bike when I bought it just a few short weeks ago.

well put another 50 miles or so on it today so now I have close to 100 miles on the new tires and they are doing nothing but getting better and better.  They make the old IBC's feel like absolute crap in comparison.
