Title: How much can rear fender support

How much weight can the rear fender support without the side rails? I would like to install a driver's back rest but want to remove the rails. Will this work or should I add some support to the fender?

Thats a pretty thin piece of metal,, Id expect the thing to fold up if it was loaded with a person w/o the rails,

If you have a friend who will follow you, get someone to watch you pull away from a stop & go thru the gears. The rear fender goes thru some pretty serious shakin even with those braces. They tend to crack the license plates..

I will not have a passenger. I will be removing the pillion. I am just concerned about me leaning on the back rest. I can do it and get the back rest less one but that costs money.

Heck ya those fenders shake, I had to beef up my aluminum fender strut when it started showing stress cracks.
