Title: Trimph 865cc
Post by MMRanch on 05/27/12 at 22:01:55

Anybody have any to say about this motor ?

Thinking of getting one as a heavy cruser .   The wife thinks the Savage is "tight" in the  seat area.   And she could be right !

The 865 is a bit slower than the 790s but with no starter gear problems. Nice bike but heavy, 110 is all they will do stock. Its British, if you are used to jap bikes its different. Overall nice bikes, gas mileage for carbed ones around 42 mpg. Very understressd engine should last forever, lots of aftermarket support and it says Triumph so you will get constant attention....from old guys wanting to tell stories.... :)

Very happy with mine.

It's an '06 purchased in late '07.  Hagon shocks, Superbrace fork brace, LED idiot lights (except the high beam - too bright) and the "King and Queen" seat.  And it definitely has Mrs Doc's approval for pillioning!
