Title: Got some bad news....
Post by martinfilms34 on 05/27/12 at 20:43:02

My bike is leaking again.....
After i fixed the plug leak it only took a couple of days and it began leaking again. My guess is that i used the wrong sealant. I went to autozone and the guy convinced me i didn't need the red high temp sealant but instead regular black oil protection gasket maker. What do you guys think? It stopped the leak for a while but then it started again so this could be it.

Well,, lets think about that,, on the head, of an air cooled engine,, I wonder if that rates as High Heat..

Go to a Bike Shop, ask them, I use TRi Bond, its gray,Its spendy, but I dont like doing things twice,

Good judgment comes from experience and most experience comes from bad judgment. Sorry man, but you learned something. I never use anything but the red, even when it's not needed. It just works. I don't disagree with the Tri Bond, but my Suzuki shop uses and recommends Yamaha Bond from the Yamaha shop when no gasket is used. It's been on my head cap for 3000 miles. Hope you have better results next time.  :)
