Title: Tank badges
Post by Denise on 05/21/12 at 12:55:39

So, started stripping paint today and found the tank is rusted through so I purchased one on ebay to replace it, the "new" one is from a boulevard with the raised , probably plastic, tank badges which I will remove and then paint the tank,
Are these just stuck on or is there a recess in the tank with attatchments ? how are they removed?
kinda wondering what I'm in for.

The parts list does not really show - however my 2007 has the tank badges and I washed and waxed it yesterday and I didn't see any kind of relief or depression around the tank badges.  I would bet they are just glued on with 2 sided tape or foam adhesive.

They're just stuck on, and there is no depression in the tank.  A little Goo-gone, hair dryer heat and floss (or other thin string) will take them right off.
