My gear shift rod is bowed is this correct? If not it seems pretty easy to fix anything special I should know about before I fix it? Where is the best place to order parts from?

I like to order OEM parts from PowerSportsPlus.com Easy to navigate, good prices on new parts, and comes complete with cut away diagrams.

If you're looking for a stock shifter odds are you could find an even better deal from someone on the forum parting out.

The Ryca guys have a rod layin around,, but most of those guys are kinda mean & want more than a new one costs,, + shipping.. & you mite just get an empty box!
Oh, & No,, bowed isnt right, You mite try straightening it, but a straight one would be how Id go if I wasnt real good at straightening things,
I would keep the bowed on & if the replacement started bending, Id give some real thot to getting the old one straightened up enough to slip thru a piece of brass tubing & hit it with a torch & load it full of solder, unless you know a welder who could slap a brace on it. Mite never have to mess with it again once you get a straight on on there,

Those danged Ryca guys,, a black hearted bunch if ever there was one,

A new one will be better than that rebent one BUT (as JOG said above) if you put a piece of tubing over that one and braze it on (hell, even JBWeld it so it doesn't slip), it'll be stronger than a new one.
