Title: First long day's ride on my Ryca Post by BuckRYCA on 05/13/12 at 07:32:54 Yesterday I rode my Ryca from the shores of Long Island Sound through Connecticut and Massachusetts to southern New Hampshire. I ran (on foot) up and down Mt. Monadnock and returned home just before dark. This was about 300 miles, averaging a very nice 60 mpg (mostly back roads at 50 mph). The seat padding is minimal on the cafe racer, but I managed it. Not too much pain today. I did this as a shake-down as I will be going to Laconia in early June for the bike rally and touring in the White Mountains. I would like to take the Ryca up there and show it off. |

Mine was slightly shorter...8 miles..ran out of gas...luckily I was only a few hundred feet from my house when that happened. 8-) |

Wow! I knew the RYCA conversion took some of the tank capacity away......but only 8 miles to a tank? ;D |

I know the bike is running rich so it much of guzzled what little fuel was in the tank. Moral of the story is that I am an idiot and should have filled the tank before leaving! :) |

Title: Re: First long day's ride on my Ryca Post by BuckRYCA on 05/21/12 at 09:35:56 $1500 for the donor bike - 11K miles, good shape + $3000 for the full kit - painted - $500 take-off and unused kit parts sold So, about $4000 into the bike itself - excluding tools and supplies and farkles such as flyscreen, fork gaiters, mini turn signals, pipe wrap, bicycle speedo. Really, about $5000 for everything and 5 solid days of work into it.
