I'm a new member from London Ontario. Been visiting this site for a year or two. I enjoy the discussions and the friendly atmospere. The simplicity of the S40 and the support available on this site moved me to sign the papers for a 2007 S40.
PO has removed the idle mixture plug so i'm hoping the other carb improvements have been done as well.
I have to safety and sell my '85 Virago 500 before I can bring the S40 home from Inglis Cycle here in London. Only have space for one bike. ;D

Can you give the PO a shout & ask whats been done?

How many miles on it?

It has 8,000 mls/13,000 kms. Thats a good idea for contacting privious owner. I'll need to ask my sales person if he would do that; give me the contact info. 8-)

The name otta be on the title, shouldnt it? Maybe not, but the PO otta be happy to tell you all about what he did & didnt do. If they say they cant give you the info, tell them to call the PO & give him your info.

Thanks, I'll do that. As well I should check the cam chain tentioner. I won't be picking up the bike for a week or so but when I do what noise should I expect to hear if cam chain tentioner needs attention? Or should I just check it anyhow?

a very loud rattling noise coming from the side of the engine, close to the oil filter place.. you'll know if its bad or not, believe me.

8,000 miles is still pretty low,, havent seen one need help that early..

Thanks. I've emailed my salesperson asking if he would contact the PO for information on wether or not that inspection was done.

From your replies looks like no need for concern for a few more miles.
