Title: carb jets Post by kritchie on 05/09/12 at 17:35:36 Ok need some help i have spoken to dealer and the the stock jets in my carb are main jet 155 and pilot 47 (86 savage) i have a straight pipe and going to a cone filter i have seen guys on here that have gone up to a 155 main and 55 pilot i already have a 155 so do i go to 55 pilot and leave the main or should i change it and if so to what ? carbs are the one thing i really and lost on, and need some advise also looking for a part number for the k & n cone filter to fit thanks kritchie |
Title: Re: carb jets Post by Serowbot on 05/09/12 at 18:59:47 You're not going to get a straight pipe with a K/N filter to run worth a cr@p no matter what you do... Best you'll do is get WFO and idle to be somewhat okay... You'll clearly need more jetting than you have,... so start with a 160/ 52.5 and no spacer (I think that's 3rd notch on your needle: you don't have a spacer),... it won't run good, but you might not burn anything up... You can't really compare to what most others do, because the 80's bikes have a slightly different carb set-up... ... a baffle or two in the pipe will help... |
