When attaching it to the bracket, use a small hose clamp to tighten it down, instead of bolts and washers and nuts that can vibrate off and end poorly for you, or the muffler. I've been driving like this for the last 2 days, and it seems to be working well. Cheers, Roger |

Title: Re: Dyna attachment Post by Oldfeller on 05/06/12 at 21:53:18 Might be good for an emergency failure gas station repair good enough to get you home, but the same locations that can sell you a hose clamp can generally also be able to sell you a some flat washers, a bolt, a lockwasher and a nut. Hose clamp set up would allow some muffler movement when going over bumps that would break your clamp seal at the muffler and eventually loosen you up at the head as well. |

It can give way under pressure at any time. :o I used a bolt, washers, lock washer, nut and then I put a locknut(aircraft locknut, the nut with the plastic inner core) just for good measure. It isn't going anywhere anytime soon... 8-) |

This way I slid the muffler way up onto the head pipe to minimize any possibility of leakage. I didn't notice any after I did that. Prior to sliding the muffler on as far as I could get it I had a slight leak in that joint. I don't think it's going anywhere. |
