Hey guys - I've been browsing here for a couple weeks. Tomorrow I'm taking the plunge. Hopefully I'll be picking up a 2006 tomorrow. This will be my first bike.

What are some things I should be on the look out for? Are there any problem areas on the S40?

Thanks! Can't wait to start riding and making this my own!

How many miles? Any maintenance records? If its got more than 12,000 miles on it, its time to look at the cam chain,

Are the tires in good shape? Thats an expensive thing, a decent rear tire runs about $120.00 & getting it mopunted is $30.00 around here.,

Have a look at the air filter,

Pull the vacuum line off the petcock & see if theres any gas in it after you run it & let it sit a few minutes.
