Title: Inspection day looms...
Post by Greg on 05/04/12 at 12:40:20

Tomorrow, Saturday, I take my scooter for PA State Inspection. I sure hope it passes as I am out of money! I need to remember to ask him if he will pass the bike next year if I drill out my baffles. If not, I guess I will do the HD muffler swap.

Don't ask for trouble. If you get hassled next year, just put some screws in the holes, or even put them in before you go.

They may never know the exhaust has been modified.. if you do a nice job of it.

I forgot to update this post. It passed inspection. But not really. The guy who did it didn't notice the dry rot on the tires (I didn't think it mattered since there are tubes in there) and put a sticker on it. The owner says they don't pass but since the sticker is there, it passed. I am buying new tires to be safe and to not get the inspection station in a bind if I get pulled over. They are offering me a deal since it was their error. I didn't like the first choice and now they are looking for something else for me.

Good call on getting new tires. Even with tubes in them, if the sidewalls get bad enough, you can still have a blowout, I know from personal experience! ::)

i get all my tires/tubes and rim strips on line and take them off the bike and to the local MC dealer for install - I use Kenda Challengers front and rear and up the rear to 140/90 makes the speedo read correct ;) and gives a little more contact patch (wider tire)....I am a fat-boy though i need all the rubber on the road i can get :o
