Title: Re: Biker Bar Post by Cavi Mike on 05/05/12 at 07:22:48 Did a google-image search for "motorcycle bar stool" Sometimes(most times) it's easier to find something if you search the image results instead of websites. |

Title: Re: Biker Bar Post by justin_o_guy2 on 05/07/12 at 09:40:59 If I could toss a wrench in it now,, I think its too inflexible for a real bar setting, cant scoot your seat over to get away from one & closer to another. Cant lean on the bar & face who youre talking to, Its ( to me) more gimmick than function, & frankly, Id feel like an idiot sitting there. Theres a reason those rides in front of the grocery store were small, it was because that kind of fantasy is for children, So, while at first blush I thot it was "cool", after a moment to consider how Id actually feel if I was there, I realized its not cool at all. ( Edit to add: NOt for a Regular bar type setting) I think it will survive not because of the bar setting, but because the bar setting is in keeping with the rest of the property. Its kind of a museum & tourist spot.( best I can tell from a quick look at their webby site) So, for them, maybe it will be okay, but if it was just a bar, theyd go broke. Its not a bar in the sense of the word most folks think of when they are "Going Bar Hopping". Its not where a guy goes hoping to meet his soul mate for the nite, its an attraction, like a theme park. Its a place to go where They Have a bar, it Isnt just a bar, so, for them, I guess it just may work,, If I stopped in there, Id sit down for a beer with my wife & friends & have a picture taken,, then Id go look at their collection of stuff that has wheels & motors & such! One thing is certain, they spent a LOAD of Cash building that place,. I hope whoever it was that put that all together makes a fortune..vision & guts & the ability to put it all together,, thats what MADE America what it was & thats what will bring us back, You know,, there are song writers. There are singers, just vocalists. & then, once in a while, someone comes along with stories to tell,, a good enough voice to tell them, & the talent to accompany themselves on some instrument. Those people leave me in awe, & I am truly impressed with this bar,, I just have to look at things from all sides,, The place is cool for what it is, if it was just a beer joint & pool tables with motorcycles for seats at the bar, I think that would be abad idea, but the thrust of the place is not "just a bar", so, I think It will work out, & thats a good thing! |
Title: Re: Biker Bar Post by EJID on 05/07/12 at 09:50:21 Looking at the gallery of pics they have, it kinda reminds me of a Harley Davidson Cafe type place... http://thewickedwheel.com/gallery.html |

My milk crate with casters & an old bath mat wrapped & tied on it for a butt pad, tied on top of a platform, also with casters, that I spent nothing on, works fine. & when I get to a task where I need to sit a coupla inches lower, I take it off the rolling platform, |

Title: Re: Biker Bar Post by justin_o_guy2 on 05/08/12 at 19:26:12 My crate is a yellow fiberglass thing from Bordens,( 4 gallon box) in Beaumont Tx, 1962. I have a wooden Lucerne crate from 54,( 6 gallon box) too, but havent decided what to do with it. I think it would make a great box on the back of a bike,, hafta build a lid outta aluminum I guess,, anyway, anyone can Buy a mass produced "cool" HD knockoff stool for the shop, but savin that $$$ & building something that works great out of something found & "Re Purposed" is what a guy like me calls cool,. But then, my handle back in the CB days was Alleyrat, cuz I would drive thru the alleys lookin for things people tossed that I could do something with, A couple of years ago, I picked up some stainless steel that was layin in a ditch after someone ran thru a fence. It had been tied into the fence as a reflector, because it was a T intersection. I guess it didnt work well enough,,anyway, I built a charcoal starter chimney out of it, The ones at Lowes rust out in a year, this ones lookin like its gonna outlast me, |
