Title: Fighting fleas & ticks Post by justin_o_guy2 on 04/28/12 at 10:28:16 We try hard to avoid toxic junk, tho we had to resort to a small dose on the dogs, not the drops, that stuff is horrid, but the tablet form. Anyway, I also mixed up 1/4 cup of peppermint oil & a 1/4 cup of lavender oil & 2 cups of water in a spray bottle. When I see a flea or tick I spray the dog down, hit the tick with a soaking shot & let the dog run a while, in about an hour, I can check, sometimes the tick is gone, other times it just comes right off,, they let go & dont leave the head stuck in the skin. I spray myself when Im headed out where I mite get a tick, downside? OUr little dogs smell like a candy cane, which is no big deal unless theres a big dog runnin around that has a sweet tooth & is easily confused. |

Title: Re: Fighting fleas & ticks Post by Paraquat on 04/30/12 at 09:26:41 I don't mind chemicals. I use the K9 Advantix II on my pooch. It's going to be really bad this year as it wasn't cold enough to kill everything off. --Steve |
