anyone have any ideas for spacers , probably an inch to take up some preload in the stock fork legs on my 2006 S40, iam getting roughly about 2" sag when i put my full weight on the seat at the front forks, when i was going for an associate in science degree in motorcycle repair in the late 70's the proper formula was there should be about 1" sag in the front of a bike..... probably varies with m/c's too.

the savage has 35° of rake, and a soft front end.

and I don't think you'll get the cap back on 1" of preload.

Something to reinforce the front suspension that is done here in Costa Rica, is to replace the fork caps, with another ones that has been pre-drilled to install air valves, and then add from 4 to 7 psi to the forks, that will make a huge difference.

I think the Ricor Intiminators (http://store.ricorshocks.com/) are interesting. I'm not sure if they make any that fit the LS650 though. Guess I need to look up the specs on our forks and read the Ricor website (http://store.ricorshocks.com/) some more.

Best thing to use if you are going to do it is a short length of PVC pipe from your hardware store; just measure to ID of the fork tube and get a piece of pipe to fit. It's best to cut on a chop saw or something that will cut two pieces perfectly square and equal. From there you can cut whatever length you need, and change it up until you get it the way you like.
These guys are right though... pushing it in there will be a b*tch, so if you have some help around, that might be a good idea....
