Title: Installing shocks..
Post by heroicseven on 04/23/12 at 12:53:25

Does anyone have any tips on the best way to go about this?

I don't have a motorcycle lift/stand, and am thinking that the back end will need to come up just a bit to swap them out.

It would be stock shocks swapped with stock shocks.

Can I do it alone? or should I get a friend to help? I don't want to mess anything up.

Its easy to do.You don't need a lift.Just do it.One at a time.

Set shocks on bike to highest preload, replacements at lowest. Do one at a time & it won't sag so much you can't lift it. When you get first new shock on raise the preload on it. 8-)

Or slide some wood stacked under the right side while on the side stand, then tilt it to the right & slide a matching stack under left side.

Either way will work, just do them one at a time. ::)
