Title: How to check oil pressure ?
Post by Bruno666 on 04/23/12 at 12:31:36

I am a little unsure about the motor makes enough oil pressure. I made a transparent inspection cover to the cylinder head, and it does not look like there is enough oil flowing up when it idles. Is this normal ?
What should oil pressure be ?
I can see why some people here have connected a pressure gauge, but I can not sure how. As seen in the picture is apparently not possible to unscrew the plug out and get into the oil channel. What have I missed?

Yes, this is a known issue.

Always keep your idle over 1,000 rpm (a moderately fast idle) to make sure you have enough oil going to your head cam bearins.

Just took off the front valve adjuster cover and used it as a template to create a cover of plexiglass. Put an approximately 6 mm thick gasket under in order to make room for the rockerarms. I took no picture when I had it on, but can do it if you would like to see it.
