TA DAAAAAAAAA-http://p1.bikepics.com/2012%5C04%5C23%5Cbikepics-2389245-800.jpghttp://p1.bikepics.com/2012%5C04%5C23%5Cbikepics-2389240-800.jpg
I fooled around with it a bit in the parking lot and found that it takes more steering effort at very slow speeds, and the turning radius is bigger.
Still very happy with it though.  :) :) :) :) :)

Thanks, Stimpy: The bag between the foot pegs is the tool kit, the bag on the sissy bar holds my pipe, flashlight for refueling, the pouch on the tank bib holds my sun glasses, and the saddlebags hold regular saddlebag stuff.

First ride today. The ride is much improved over stock. It doesn't nose dive as much as it used to when braking. Much more stable at highway speeds. It handles the same at normal city cornering as it used to, as far as I could tell.
To sum up- it "feels" much better than stock, sort of like a bigger bike, only lighter.
Glad I did it.
:) :)

That looks Fantastic! :o The s40 should come that way stock. I bet you'll confuse many a biker when you roll up on that beauty. :-? It really is a perfect looking bike. Congrats and enjoy... 8-)

Looks great, something tells me that a stretched out more "bullet" style headlamp would top it off.. :D

I love your bike!  I'm glad you like the change.

Where'd you get the patches for the tank? (and what are they called? lol)  Mine is black, but I still think I'd like to have a set of those.

And I was thinking you had a fork brace.  No?  Wonder how different it would feel.

It really looks comfy.

Would you sell the Superbrace?

I echo BabyHogs question on the Tank Pads.

Great all around job. Enjoy your steed.

Thanks for all the nice comments.
Tank knee pads came from J&P. The trees are wider so the superbrace wouldn't fit, and yes I will sell it. I used it for one season. PM me with a price and a shipping location.
I have also got the stock trees, tubes, springs, windshield, and dampers if anyone is interested.

I sent a PM, but i don't know if it's working. What is the condition of the brace? How does $90 plus shipping to 11780 sound?

Dangit!  I hate when I think out loud and get beat out of something!  lol

Forgot which winshield you had, my step-son might want it.  Will do some checking...  did you post in the Markteplace?

PM is not working, apparently. It is still nice and shiny. And it has the shields on it as well.
I will give Babyhog a chance, if she doesn't want it it's yours.

I like your exhaust a lot. What is it?

It's a Raask, from Sweden. The header is a bigger diameter than stock, which gives the bike a substantial boost in performance. It's loud when you twist it, but not too bad when you are gentle on the throttle.

Fantastic job man! Love the straight pipe ... and IMHO the pearl white on the S40 was the best color ever offered on that Bike!

Well done! 8-)

I am interested in the header. Was that made by a local muffler shop? Do you have any plans/drawings/dimensions you'd be willing to share?

the header and muff are sold together from Raask.

I understand about the no more nose dive and wider turning radius. But also be careful riding in a strong wind, that front wheel can some times act like a rudder. I know this from experiance when I built the FireLizard. (there is a pic of it some where on this site.) Wish I had never sold it but I had some bills that needed paying.

Of all the things you did... love the bag placement! And the way that headlight is perched out there on the forks is just too cool.
