D Clark, the music industry maverick, longtime TV host and powerhouse producer who changed the way we listened to pop music with American Bandstand, and whose trademark Rockin' Eve became a fixture of New Year's Eve celebrations, died today at the age of 82.

(Can you believe this fool dirty word filter on here won't let me print his name? It coms out Thingy Clark. JHC!)

Ran American Bandstand mostly before your time but hosted the New Year's Eve stuff on TV every year since sometime in the 70's until just a couple of years ago after he suffered a stroke.

I seriously thought Di@k Clark would be someone that nobody could say they didn't know who he was.  Guess I was wrong....  Stimpy... thought you were a "music" guy??

I always loved the "Rate A Record" part of American Bandstand.  Wonder if the results from all those ratings are published anywhere?  Probably some interesting statistics.

R.I.P. Mr Clark.... and "so long"
