HA!  That is actually my chief assistant, who is getting all kinds of wrenching experience on this project.  He got the honor of being the first one to plant a backside on the seat. ;D ;D ;D

Thanks--we have a ways to go yet--I dialed in the carb today--it was running lean, and the back-fire has been eliminated.

Man, she sounds good!  I will try my hand at posting up some video with sound soon.

Stay tuned!  ;)

nice

8-)

kid reminds me of me over 20 years ago, could
bearly touch the ground on tippytoes but did not
care, I kept stealing other peoples big bikes for
joyrides (like from uncles neighbors, my friends'
fathers, etc, lol)  ride now, get screamed at later,
who cares!  man those where the days ...never could
figured out why everyone left the keys on the ignition ;)

-----------------

- um, what is the fuel capacity of the new chopped gas tank?

looks amazing but 2.8 Gal stock was bad enough as it was
with only a bit over 100miles of range.

- where do all the electronics go now?
where the airbox was, got it

- what is that tube/rod thing that comes out of the spark plug?
new manual decomp/selenoid, got it
- are those rear shocks from the kit just regular socks painted
black or are they modified?

- how did the speed and torque change with a 18" rear wheel?

Very nice, and even better that you're building it with your son... Bravo

Quick question

How much travel are you giving to the Decompressor when you activate it? 45 degrees, 90?
just want to know how much it is supposed to be

lch2, I had the same question when I was building my RYCA.  Now that I am almost complete and have started it using the foot actuated lever I can tell you mine only needs to go about 45 degrees in order to be effective.
