Title: Quick question.. Post by heroicseven on 04/05/12 at 15:44:33 Just noticed that my clutch cable is fraying at the lever. Would any savage clutch work for a replacement? I see a few on ebay for 98's but i have a 2000. Thanks. |
Title: Re: Quick question.. Post by justin_o_guy2 on 04/05/12 at 15:52:10 If you match the handlebar styles,, & dont just go pullin the cable, study how its routed. If its gonna be a pain to put the cable back where it came from, see if you can pull the old one & drag the new one in, or put some good string on the old one, pull it & use the string to pull the new one into place. I learned the hard way,, I pulled a "remotely operated" passenger mirror off a car. Back when that meant a cable with a lever in the dash.. OHHH Man,, running the new one was several hours,, I coulda done it in 20 minutes,, OUch! |
Title: Re: Quick question.. Post by EJID on 04/05/12 at 15:58:01 A brand new replacement is only $18.46 on RonAyers and it shows the exact same part # for 86-88 and 95-2004 So, me thinks it would work ;D http://www.ronayers.com/WhereUsed/N/9935/PartNumber/58200-24B12 |
Title: Re: Quick question.. Post by verslagen1 on 04/05/12 at 17:48:49 cables for buckhorns are a little bit longer than those for drag bars, but both should work on either if you don't mind being creative with routing. |
