Hi All,

Bought the S40 last October just before the first snow.  2007 with 3300 miles.  Took maybe two or three short rides until finally a nice spring day.  Went for a 110 mile ride yesterday.  I usually ride a Goldwing so this was a fun change.  Had a great time but the butt burn was terrible.

I've seen the posts on raising the front of the seat but I don't think I've
seen anything about the actual problem that this will cure.

Did the first oil change today.  The filter is different than either of my Hondas or Kawasakis. Hope I got everything in the filter housing put back correctly but I don't see any leaks, didn't have any left over parts  and nothing blew up when I started the bike.

I am located near Hazleton, PA.

Looking forward to meeting some of you down the road.

Welcome to the club.
As long as you didn't put the filter in bassackwards, and the spring is in place, you should be ok.
As for the seat, raising the front helps keep the jewels from riding on the tank but as far as comfort.....there are a number of seats that will fit our bikes with little or no modification. Look in the tech section. Corbin makes one that a lot of guys on here are using. Also there is a Harley seat that will work too, not sure which one.
Good luck and safe riding.
