Title: First Post!! Electrical ?(control unit relay solen
Post by hawaiibobber on 03/17/12 at 12:45:27

I just replaced this part because one of the fuses had blown/broke off completely from the unit (part 32910-24B10) out of the 6 male ends only 5 were running a connection. Because the blown female end looked pretty bad I just switched the wire over to the open connection and connected it that way.

My question is if that is OK or does it have to go to that particular spot on the control unit and the unused tab was unused for a reason? Should I leave it as I rewired it or should I clean it out and put it back the way it was?

Thanks for any help!!

Can't say why the decomp controller has an open connection.
Most likely cause it's not used and swapping a wire over to it might be harmful, might not.  Depending on what wire you swapped over... might not do anything.

I would think the wire would have to go to the original spot to work.

Thanks for the insight...I might just switch it over to be safe. Do you know if the unit is designed for specific wires to run to a specific male end or is it just all the same?

Furthermore I know nothing about electronics LOL...let alone much else

If it was all the same, wouldnt they just run one wire? Generally, a wire leaves somewhere & is supposed to go to somewhere else,, & no other place other than the designed destination, SO,, If there was a blank spot on a connector & you moved the wire that feeds in & the wire that feeds out to the blank spot, you did okay,,if ya just moved one of them,,, ehhh not so great,,
