Title: Finnally paid the ransom on the wifes bike today.

I could get in trouble on this little puppy. I drive an '03 Volusia 800 full dress. This little S40 is scarry fast. :o lay it hard in the corner and roll the gas and hold on. '05, Valves ajusted (they were tight), K & N filter, Dyana muffler, Jet kit, Drag bars. It has the factory installed backfire but much reduced when the wrench got done with it. Just one time between gear shifts now. Starts right up with the choke on full with no throttle. Let it warm up for about 1 min, push in the choke and it's good to go. This should be just the bike for the wife who is 5'2" to learn to ride. I need to stay off it.  ;)

My wife rides my Savage. She really likes the size, but she says the front end shimmies when she gets it over 100 miles per hour. ;)

The Savage/s40 sure is a fun bike to ride on backroads and twisties. I just installed Routy's Forward Controls, 32" XLX bars with C90 risers and a Dyna Muff. It's a totally different bike now. I feel stretched out and relaxed with a cool sounding exhaust, deep but not too loud. Next up, Tach and re-jet and it should be good for the summer. Like I said, a totally new bike with Routy's FC's.

Run a Fork Brace and that'll tone it down...

Put  TKat fork brace on it.  No more shimmy.
