Title: 2 Questions - rear seat support,  choke spring
Post by Tehrifleman on 02/18/12 at 10:13:53

The choke on my '95 will not stay out, as the plastic nut is worn. $30+ seems like a lot for a new choke, can I just cut the spring to keep it from pulling the choke in? Also, do the chrome rails that support the sissy bar and turn signals also support the rear seat? I'd like to get rid of them, but keep the seat in hopes that someday I may have someone to ride with me... Hope springs eternal.

Choke,.. I'm not sure...

Fender is pretty sturdy on it's own,.. and the chrome pieces aren't structurally supporting, but they must add some amount of strength to the assembly...
Is your fantasy mate a BBW or a spinner?... :-?...

Those side rails keep the fender from buckling in or out, I think theyre structural

They're also wiring channels, unless the turn signal wiring has been modified.

Guess I'll get a new choke and just loosen the rails to get the sisy bar off. All of my possibles are a little heavy....   :-/
