Title: 6 Months later..
Post by kimchris1 on 02/06/12 at 12:06:55

Last week marked the 6th Month that I started
my "change of life" journey.
So I thought I would share my results with you
all..

So far I have lost 10 inches from my waist,
10 inches from my hips,
4 inches from around each upper arm,
2 inches from each upper thigh,
2 inches from around my calves.
My BMI (body mass index) was
45 and is now.. 31.2
I have lost 10% body fat as well.
I feel the best I think I have ever felt.
It has not been easy yet seeing the results
keep me motivated to keep going towards
my goal.
To date I have lost 63 lbs and have
37 lbs left to hit my personal goal of 100 lbs.
I have cleaned out my closets and gotten rid of
so many clothes. Now am enjoying shopping for
smaller sizes.
The owner of the gym told me I was an inspiration
as I cried at my achievement. I told her I had never
been an inspiration for anything like this in my life.
I have even had a couple people at the gym tell me
this too. All I can say is, if I help one person see
that it is possible to change habits and your health
than it is a great reason to keep on going in the
directon I am heading.
Ok so you want to see a pic.. Well here I am 2 weeks
ago. Since then my hair is much shorter. How short you
ask? Well remember Sandy Duncan? She played Peter Pan.
Yes it is that short and I love it.. Hugs everyone for a great
day.. :)  :-* :-* :-* kim

Thanks everyone for the positive comments. It has been alot
of hard a$$ work. No other way for me to say it. Determination,
will power and again hard a$$ work. I am enjoying seeing the
benefits from it all though.
Yes I feel great and Genie even thanks me as well.
She doesnt miss hauling around the extra weight.
She did seem to zoom even better on Sunday than in the
past. She zipped right along and kept up with the hubby's
Shadow. I had not ridden her in awhile and definetly noticed
a difference with the weight loss.
If some of you are wondering if I did Jenny Crain, Weight Watchers,
or even had stomach surgery, the answer is NO to all.
I have just eliminated alot of the things I used to eat as well as how
I cooked and the portion sizes. That along with again the gym,
Zumba and working nights has done it.
My moto has been from day one.
"One Day at a Time, One Pound at a Time."
I haven't nor plan to let myself get discouraged when in some
weeks I lost only 1 lb or didn't lose any. I just kept it up and
even stepped up the work outs.
Oh and my Mom and I are planning a trip to Hawaii next January.
Gotta get bathing suit ready.. ;)
OH I can almost picture myself in the Pink chaps..  :-* :-* :-*  kim

Your looking good Kimchris, when was the last time you were 100#?

Bill, to be honest with you. I can't ever remember being
100#..
When I started this journey, on Aug 1,2011, I tipped the
scales at 250 lbs... I am now as of this past Tuesday 185 lbs.
My goal is to be 150 and yet am thinking that possibly making
it even lower. I just have to see what happens.
All I know is after many years of battling weight, I am now able
to control it and lose it better than I have ever been able to .
I definetly can see the lights at the end of the tunnel.. :)  :-* :-* kim

YOure not just seein the light at the end O th tunnel, but the toes at the end of the feet! Thats some Amazing weight loss! YOure gaining so much. I hope, anyway,, arent you feeling more energetic? Just generally feeling better?

Kimchrist you said you want to lose 100# I thought you wanted to get down to 100#, my mistake.

Bill, hugs and no worries. I did say I wanted to lose 100 lbs.
I never said how much I weighed as was ashamed. Now that
I have lost the 65 lbs, I am proud enough to say what was,
as well as what is now.. ;)

Justin, I do feel great and have lots of energy. Their has been
times when I went to the gym in order to work off the extra
energy. I enjoy being able to not only continue working out but
being able to step it up a notch or 2 now and then.
;).
As I mentioned earlier, all the hours and sweat have paid and continue
to pay off. Knowing that I am lessening my chances of certain cancers
as well as heart diseases makes it an even better reason to continue
on the path I have chosen.
I knew I had to do something as was killing myself.
I am so looking forward to posting that pic of myself in the pink gear
someday.
To anyone thinking of losing weight, quitting smoking, or even stopping
drinking, the first step is the hardest.
Believe me, I know it all too well... :-* :-* :-* kim
