Hey, Peter, a shop tour would be great.

Ive been around a little blacksmithing work & have done body work on bent cars, straightened stuf, heated & made things & I want a small forge. Workinbg with metal is just allright stuff IMO..

Justin, We had a forge when I was growing up. Hand cranked blower on a floor mount. The forge was simple. My dad built a box about 3'x3' on legs about 30" tall. Filled it with hard packed red clay from here in Miss. We shod our horses back then. Shod doesn't look right. Anyway, I have always wanted to build a few items for gifts, but I doubt I ever get around to doing it. It is an art and takes a lot of practice. Did you ever notice the blacksmith guys and gals on tv never wear eye protection?

Ive got a torch & awelder. We have plenty of red clay to line a steel box with so it didnt melt,, Ive got to clear an area outside the shop & pour a floor & build a lean to. Its a small shop & Ive got way too much stuff, but, that doesnt keep me from needing,, err ,, wanting, more, gotta finish the lean to on the other end & get the compressor installed. Then the 4 wheeler & mower & tiller can go out there,,& Ill have Room,, room!

I wish Pietre ( I think thats right) would stop in,,

Peter the Blacksmith is an old time Savage member; used to hang out here until he started a site in his area of the world.  He lives in Finland if I remember correctly...nice dude.

Been off the board but...

There is a full smithy here at the farm. 2 forges and 5 anvils right now, enough material to make at least 5 more forges without buying any new stock to start from.

Hand powered and electric bellows/blowers.

At least 6 torches and welders.

You guys know you're welcome to pop by here just about any weekend. Have thousands of cords worth of "trash" hardwoods here you can use to heat the forges.

Just need advanced notice.

Haven't seen much of Peter the Blacksmith since the old forum (Heise) days...
